4 stars First of all, I have to say that Perséide is a band from my hometown, so that might color my judgment. On the other hand, I have to admit that "Les couleurs d'été" is the first album I've really enjoyed. The band has certainly matured since its debut in 2017.

The first three tracks of the album are rather laid-back, soaring, psychedelic... A pleasant moment, filled with synthesizers, Mellotron and beautiful melodies.

From the fourth track onwards, the album really catches my attention. "À travers le prisme" offers nice dynamics, "Les heures vives de l'errance" features wonderful vocal harmonies, "Kaléidoscope" has a driving groove, "Méditerranée" exploits original sounds and the sequence of "Là-bas" / "Où le soleil ne se rend pas" is the real highlight of the album.

The album ends with a coda to lower the tension. It's well crafted.

I hope this band continues to amaze us with other albums as well written and produced.
