4 stars Slick polished upbeat guitar superhero jams infiltrate our universe with an eclectic mix of the now, far out, jazzy, hip-hop, and unknown with several special guests. I gravitate towards the instrumental tunes such as "Playing God", my favorite offering, tossing a flamenco flavored mix into the overall positive reminder that no one here gets out alive. Or the catchy groove of "Reverie" with the locked and loaded rhythm section and unexpected change near the end of the song. Or how 'bout the salsa flavored "Chimera" with one of those special guests? The funky bolero "Ego Death" is another good one with energetic guitar chirping from a dude who played in Zappa's band.

Polyphia have created another monster album that transcends us mortals to another plane of consciousness and is definitely worth a listen.

2 stars An extremely overproduced album, a "classic" polyphia sound at the moment. If you are like me who loves instrumental music but hates pop/electro then you might find it hard to enjoy this album. Example: drums on probably every song sounds like it was completely made on a computer aka electro beats (even if they are real at this point of production they dont sound like actual drums), melodies are very mid here feels like they are ai generated or something, bass sounds fake for some reason, guitar sounds like it was cut 20 times just to record one riff (tho no intention to call them fake players because their live songs are better that their studio work imo) This album is definitely overhyped. I prefer their older work 'muse" album for example, even 2018 album sounds more doable production wise. I give this album 2/5
