2 stars This EP is a collaboration between Gizz and art-punk group Tropical Fuck Storm that originally came about from the "Hat Jam" session the group had done a while ago. It's an odd release, but the music leans more towards the style of TFS, so I wouldn't necessarily call this fully Prog. Track one is mostly a creepy spoken-word segment, which sets the mood for the release, but at only 54 seconds is fairly inconsequential. The second track, Midnight in Sodom, is the highlight of the EP, with a heavy but catchy disco-punk from the TFS side that still allows room for Gizz to be their wild and crazy selves. The final and longest tack, Hoof and Horn, is...a thing. Its very avant-garde and meant to invoke the sort of eeriness of a satanic slumber party I suppose. However, it sounds more like a weird jam than a cohesive song, which makes it hard to follow along. This EP will probably be polarizing among Gizz fans with it not necessarily being a Gizz-style release. While enjoyable in parts, I think this is something that only diehard Gizz and TFS fans will go out of their way for.
