5 stars This one is Phishtory. One of Trey's favorite shows. One of the tightest and best "Reba", one of the first jammed out "Ghost" and many many other good versions. A must have for any Phish fan, who likes the Phunk of 97.

5 stars Yes, agreed with Alec. This is quintessential '97 - 5 song sets, super funk, ripped up solos, kick ass licks and non-stop energy. The Ghost is crazy funky and the DWD is on par with any this music critic has ever heard.

5 stars This show changed the way I listened to music. Not just Phish. And I know Phish. This is truly, without a doubt one of my FAVORITE shows by the group.

The first set of the show is simply amazing and completely unique in the Phish catalog. Apart from the fact that it consists simply of five tracks, the quality and approach to standards like Tweezer and Reba results in some amazing and ambient area-sized grooves. Tweezer begins plods along with a slowly ebbing and flowing vengeance, gradually petering out into the silence of McNichols Sports Arena (the recording quality is amazing too, by the way). The soaring heights of a perfectly played Reba are only getting things warmed up. After a breather with the acoustic Train Song, Ghost emerges.

This is not an ordinary track. It has a life all of its own. For the proggers in the audience (everyone) - keep in mind that this is all improvised and played by intuition. The Ghost groove unfolds, expands, contracts, morphs and tumbles through 20-plus minutes of incredibly improv, with peaks scraping the cloud-bottoms or some long-forgotten Olympus. Magnificent. Top the wild set off with Hendrix, and you're golden. The Ghost ceases to be a track and becomes a living entity with redemptive qualities.

The second set is also juicy - the Down with Disease takes a similar possession as the Ghost did in the first set, and ends up spiraling through blues tunes, Johnny B. Goode, and a celestial instrumental jam that will have the listener reexamining what planet he or she is currently on.

The YEM is also mellow and harmless, and the filler from the following night is a MONSTER Wolfman's that will eat you alive. Don't say you weren't warned.

This show is ESSENTIAL for phans and will be interesting to proggers with patience. Absolutely wonderful.
