4 stars This band from the Russian Federation is formed around the very busy and innovative musician Kamille Sharapodinov (also The Grand Astoria, The Legendary Flower Punk aso). SLOVO MIRA are delivering an eclectic blend of music styles, comprised of psychedelic, space, jazz and ethno folk ingredients mostly, but not eclusively. Hence be prepared for the unexpected! Beyond 15 or 20 minutes playing time in each case? No problem. They are able to create lengthy songs with ease. Where the result is entertaining, guaranteed. What about the basic workout, draft? All selections were improvised live. No overdubs. Solely really experienced musicians won't fail here.

Their debut album two years back already caused attention. Though 'What Happened To You In All The Confusion?' shows progression again, whereas the title really suits the times by the way. For example the groovy opener Before And After marks a clear revelation. Referencing to a Bitches Brew atmosphere somehow, twists and turns, mysterious voices respectively spoken word contributions, vocals close to the South-Indian Carnatic style, the balalaika as a significant add-on. A listening pleasure. Very unique stuff and flow, nearly impossible to describe, just because it's achieving true greatness. Due to this album the German Tonzonen Records Label are having another new sensation at hand, no question. You should give this a chance. 4.5 stars.
