3 stars After two very good psychedelic records FOLLAKZOID are back with their third studio album from 2015 called "III". This four piece are from Chile and after having the same lineup on the first two records we see a change here as the keyboardist has left, and the new synth player is listed as a guest. So technically a three piece now.

We get four long tracks and the final three continue in the same style as the first two albums, but it's that 12 minute opener that had me worried. Worried as in what direction they may be headed and that's techno music. I found out much later with their most recent release "V"(I missed the fourth release) that they have indeed changed to that brighter, danceable music, and I didn't get through that cd by the way. It also had a bright, shiny silver album cover like a disco ball which should have been a hint. It's interesting that this "III" record has a yellow cover, while the first two have absolute classic Krautrock styled album covers. This band has changed and this is the transition of that. So yes the new synth player and his Korg have started something here.

I'll stick with their first two albums, but this one has it's moments.
