4 stars After announcing the end of the touring band, founders of Yesterdays Zsolt Enyedi (kb.) and Ákos Bogáti-Bokor (g.) decided to move forward and release more Yesterdays music. According to a recent interview, from now on Yesterdays will be a recording band only.

This new single shows the symphonic progressive side of the band, Moog solos all over, STEVE HOWE-like electric guitar passages, GENTLE GIANT style four voice baroque recorder part and again, influences of YES. We hear Kimmo Pörsti's (THE SAMURAI OF PROG) drumming, this time reminiscent of ALAN WHITE's style.

High female vocals - as usual - upbeat, positive mood. Karola Antal is a fantastic singer, first appeared in Ákos' old band TABULA SMARAGDINA, singing backing vocals, later she recorded the masterpiece NÉMAFILM SUITE PART II. on the second Yesterdays album, COLOURS CAFFÉ.

FIND ANOTHER LIGHT is a relatively short song, only four minutes, but it has many prog things going on: a symphonic prog style intro with mellotron, taurus and minimoog, distorted bass, two analog synth solos, blockflöte fugue part, and YES-like guitar sounds, multiple backing vocals (reminiscent of TREVOR RABIN-era YES).

The single is distributed only digitally, but there's a printable CD cover available on the band's Facebook page, for collectionists.

Short and melodic prog tune from Romania. Looking forward to hear more.

4 stars A fresh start from Yesterdays, it took me by surprise. I am a big fan of their debut "Holdfénykert" and the new single, FIND ANOTHER LIGHT reminds me of their prog hit: SEVEN. Although YESTERDAYS is a band from Romania, this new song has a very Swedish "aftertaste", positive like MOON SAFARI, tricky like THE FLOWER KINGS but with lovely female vocals, provided by KAROLA ANTAL.

Like their debute album, this song is driven by acoustic guitar strumming, but the electric guitar parts are undoubtedly under STEVE HOWE's influence, both in tone and in style.

Instead of flute, they used multiple layers of baroque recorder sounds, very GENTLE GIANT- ish. The analog synth solos are interesting too, different cutoff/sounds panned in stereo with the same melody, I've only heard this trick on GLASS HAMMER's Lex Rex album. Nice trick in stereo.

I hope that this will be a new beginning for Yesterdays, I'd like to hear a new album from this band. Until that, this single is highly recommended!

4 stars Find Another Light is a brand new single from Hungarian/Romanian band Yesterdays. It is nice to see that they have returned to show their progressive rock side after their pop-like period. In style this new tune is very much like Yes or Camel, the time signature is almost constantly 7/8. The strenght of this piece is in the beautiful female vocals (of Karola Antal) and the moog solo extravaganza. As special guest on drums is Kimmo Pörsti, drummer of Paidarion and The Samurai Of Prog. Kimmo helped out Yesterdays guitarist Ákos Bogáti-Bokor on The Cosmic Remedy's first album (as a band member). It's a pity that this song has been released only digitally, but still, it's worth 4 stars. Lovely return from Yesterdays!

4 stars Find Another Light was a single by Yesterdays in 2015. It's another prog-hit jam from this band I discovered recently on Bandcamp, thanks to their third studio album "Senki madara".

This song is very catchy, melodic, it could be easily a radio hit if it wasn't composed in 7/8. Starting with a big symphonic prog intro with moog and mellotron, takes us back to Close to the Edge era Yes in a very unique way. Female lead vocals are always strong on Yesterdays recordings, this time Karola Antal's voice takes this song to the next level.

Great drumming by Kimmo Pörsti, drummer of Samurai of Prog and Paidarion, he gives a perfect 7/8 feel that in the same time feels so natural, you won't even notice that we are dealing with a special time signature here.

Bass, guitars, mellotrons and blockflötes/recorders are played by Akos Bogati-Bokor. The middle eight's polyphonic recorder part is a clear Gentle Giant tribute.

It's a very song-based composition, made me think of Neal Morse era Spocks Beard.

All in all this could be part of any good progrock album, it's a nice addition to my Yesterdays collection. Beautiful lyrics, this time in English. Since I conside their Senki madara album one of the best albums in 2018, this older single really lives up to this quality. Highly recommended!
