ORIGINAL ALBUM SERIES

I think that what's in place here is a comparative overview of the set, rather than a detailed report on each album (specially considering that these ones must have their fair share of reviewing elsewhere):

"TIM BUCKLEY" - First album, clearly under the influence of the mid-sixties production design still in trend (incipient psychedelia meets young promising singer-songwriter).

"GOODBYE AND HELLO" - Already escaping the domination of the romantic-yet-incendiary troubadour archetype, but still seeking inspiration in pacifist & protest poetry absorbed from the counterculture.

"HAPPY SAD" - Moody and emotional as the title states, but also a major musical change towards more personal songs, backed up by the band with awesome free-form jazzy improvisational playing. (Think of Van Morrison's Astral Weeks, but without the orchestra)

"BLUE AFTERNOON" - My personal favourite, with all that "I love Miles Davis, you know" attitude coalescing unforced in perfectly crafted songs. The "blue" in the title stands for the general mood, not for the specific style of music.

"LORCA" - After a great achievement, they needed to go even further, so there you have atonalism, emancipation of disonance, experimental treatment of the voice, and a long "etc." crossing almost every barrier.
