Not all platinum shines in the sun. Angelo Branduardi has released four albums which may interest a prog fan and scores of other albums which may only interest the folk music aficionado. It seems like I have spent most of my money on the folk music albums. I am not amused.
I have nothing against Angelo Branduardi as such. But three cds with vocal based folk music songs with some sparsely used instruments becomes at least two cds too many for my liking. Angelo's voice is angel like (sorry the pun) and excellent. But one bird does not make a flock of birds.
Most of the songs here, the big majority, is taken from his folk music career. Only a handful of songs are from his five progressive albums. In short, this is a regressive collection of songs and not a progressive collection of songs. The booklet is OK and gives some info about Angelo Branduardi. But I am not that interested in this artist so I am bypassing this read.
In short, this three cds box is not worth the bother.
