5 stars Was a great surprise for me to listen to this new album from this new italian prog/trash band, Empyrios - The Glorious Sickness. Here we find a masterpiece of heavy progressive metal modern music, with extreme good taste, full of melody, arrangements, production, musicianship and speed, making the whole audition as a single piece of Heavy Metal power, from beggining to the end.

Each song has his single, cativating lines, powerfull chorus, inspired riffs and solos, all with its own light, one after another! If i could describe it, would sounds like a mixture of Symphorce, Eldritch and Nevermore. The timbre of the vocalist Silvio Mancini is much like the Symphorce's Andy B. Frank; the guitars scream and flows like a river of heavyness, conduced by Simone Mularoni (also DGM's), and an especial audition to the great drums, lead by Dario Ciccioni, with his double-speed bumbos and delicious timbres in each piece of his equipment.

As cascade of emotions and agressivity, the album proceed agressively without exceeding the limits of the true progressive music, but full of sensations and heavy break-neck songs, kickass technicianship and violent waves of Heavy Metal as it must be: crude when its needed, and complex and powerful when it must be.

In the rampage of bands that proliferate in the metal world scene, its sure that Empyrios has his well deserved place amongst the Heavy Metal masters!!!

My rating would be 4.75, that i bring to 5 stars.
