4 stars Madness is an excellent album of TONY MACALPINE,and no need to mention that this time ,he's surrounded by some excellent musicians again-Larry Dennison on bass and monster drummer Glen Sobel! The final result is at the height of our expectations-nothing breathtaking or sensational-just good quality TONY MACALPINE stuff! One of the high qualities of this album is it's great diversity and richness in musical expression -from pure fusion to neoclassical shred-from crunchy metal riffs to more world orientated music! Maybee,MADNESS is -from this pont of view-the most diverse MACALPINE material! There's no boring song on Madness, all tracks are excellent ,the album has rhythm, the balance between the tracks are perfectly well thinked and in the end we have the satisfaction of a good audition made! It's not at all an album only for musicians,it's a very good album undoubtedly with excellent compositions, and any MACALPINE fan and guitar shred fan will apprciate this album at 100 %!Of course,Tony's solos are mindblowing and spectacular-the CHOPIN piano song is present ,as usual, and it';s impressive again this album is a major step ahead compared to the mediocre FREEDOM TO FLY,the alchemy between all 3 musicians is perfect!I repeat-the perfect word to describe this album is DIVERSITY!A solid release for one of the best guitar players in the world!4 STARS !
