1 stars This is a collection of re-mixes of the song Fractal Zoom that came out in the early 90s. Popular electronic music was still in its infant stage when this record came out and it really shows on these re-mixes. This style of House/Techno music has not aged well. So much happened in the world of electronic music in the mid-90s that this EP might as well have been from another decade or worse. It also doesn't help that the song being re-mixed is dull and full of trite annoying spoken word lyrics.

The best mix is the Naive mix that actually has some classic Eno style ambient synth textures. The worst mix is the A Cappella which features the annoying spoken word part ("a town so small that everyone was famous ...") repeating itself while backed by buzzing synthesizers. The added song, The Roil The Choke, almost sounds like a classic idiosyncratic Eno song from the 70s, but it is ruined by a repeating subtly flatulent synth sound.

If you really like totally dated early 90s rave music then you might like this, otherwise stay clear.
