ALPHA

I don't see how this album is worse than their debut. To my ears they form a perfect very 80's sounding pleasant music experience. Surely it's not a prog that we know and love. Therefore strictly speaking one or two star rating is explainable, but if we just forget for the moment that we should rate albums according to their 'progressiveness' and just listen to this very well crafted songs with rich instrumentation and perfect vocals then I cannot give 'Alpha' less then five stars. I like every song here, with 'The Smile Has Left Your Eyes', 'The Last To Know" and 'Open Your Eyes' being the favourites. Well, being torn between what rating actually stands for and quality of music I'm leaning to the later and give the album four stars, not five as a nod to 'Alpha' 'unprogressiveness'.
