4 stars Osanna is a important group for me. Along with Jethro Tull (mainly for the flute, instrument I love) they were the first groups to introduce me to Progressive Rock. And I have no complains - Osanna's first album is absolutely amazing.

It comprizes the whole zeitgeist of the heavy psychdelic Jimi Hendrix driven sound, plus various aspects of italian folk. I loved the way they start and ends the sides of the LP with nicely acoustic guitar. The electric guitar, since we mention, itsa gas! Completly in tune with the most agressive parts of the music. The flute style of Elio Danna is also something to praise, probably the second in my flutist list.

The album isnt exactly the most progressive of the group - they still need the "Milano Calibro" to develop a most ecletic sound and then attcack with the masterpiece of "Palepoli".

But this one is a complete and independent work, worth to be listen by anyone.
