GENESIS LIVE

One of my favourite live albums to which I feel special emotional liaison, since it was my introduction to Genesis more than three decades ago. Representative song selection, excellent performance. Interesting is band's high fidelity commitment to their studio cuts; on all the tracks there is little or no improvisation at all, an extremely rare situation on live albums altogether; even the length of the tracks, compared to the studio versions , differs only in seconds. Though it's hard for me to choose any particular song from this album and mark it as my personal fav, for all among them would deserve that status, 'The Musical Box' would be the one. Just few days ago I've read an interview with Peter Gabriel made in late 1973, in which he took short overview to 'Live' album stating that he was not to keen to see that album released, but that good thing was that it served to introduce a lot of people to the band. That was just my case.
