VAPOR TRAILS

I am very careful when reviewing this CD as if I say it is good it gives Rush the thumbs up to go ahead and produce the same result next time and I wouldn`t want that. What we have here is an average Rush CD , not great but not bad, some of the songs are pretty decent in fact. I make a rule not to take Rush too many reviews seriously as I have discovered from experience that Rush fans can be very hot and cold in their opinions. The Good aspect in the CD are The songwriting the basic synergy the band still creates and the indication that Rush are still alive and well . The Bad aspects are The recording ? its as you already probably know very poor they really cooked it in its mastering stage it seems (volume wars) Alex Lifeson doesn`t offer any (that I can remember) guitar solos and as we know he is an exceptional guitarist normally. Neil Peart (probably the greatest drummer I have ever heard) doesn`t shine in the way he normally does behind the kit on Vapor Trails.

In whole a decent effort.
