3 stars Kansas has totally lost the progressive edge by the time it produced this album. However I would say this is an excellent pop rock album. At first I could not even notice the change of the vocalist and thought the band has taken a complete new direction (as were other prog rock bands doing). Play the game and Chasing Shadows are definitely two memorable pieces here by all standards. The second best two songs are Borderline and Diamonds and Pearls. Overall the album has a 'warm' musical nuance to it. Sure Kansas made it better before, but it is not that bad. Genesis did worst with Abacab and Yes did Big Generator. Compared to that its much better.
