5 stars Ok, I am not reviewing this based on its price, but the quality of the music video within. If you pay for it, realize it is only a 9 minute music video, some commentary, and an ambient remix of the song.

I consider the video to be Adam Jones' best work as a director. It combines live action, stop motion, and cgi, and really shows Adam breaking away from his roots as a good Brother's Quay/Jan Svankmajer copycat, and become very good and original. The stop- motion character is well animated, and trip-hop does an excellent job playing the lead role of a man with tentacles on his head. The CGI scene by Alex Grey is extremely well done and very descriptive of Tool's music. This is all great, thought-provoking surrealist footage.

The song is easily one of Tool's best, polished in every way. Parabol is a sublime combination of percussion, subtle bass and synth, mantric background vocals, and even the sound of frogs. Then there is a moment of silence as Parabola kicks in, a hard-rock psychedelic groove, easily some of Tool's finest work.

I think the song and video are both worthy of the word masterpiece.
