5 stars First, I must admit that the "prog folk" oriented era of Tull is my favorite one.

Songs From The Wood is the first album of a sort of folkie trilogy by the band. That being said, this is an essential Tull record. Plenty of rich melodies and harmonies, detailed and rich arrangements, just inspired JT at its best. There is no even one song close to a filler here, and the production is exquisite.

Lyrics deal mostly with British folklore and legends (as Anderson says) and the music really blends with the topics in a great way.

Totally recommended for prog, folk and classic rock fans as well.
