5 stars This wildly inventive, extremely diverse collection of songs has received a major sonic upgrade with a deluxe release today, 6-6-6 (!)...now available as a 2-disc collection.

The first disc is comprised of a re-mastered version of the original 1979 LP release which was not previously available on CD.

The second disc is the 1985 version...however, the three Daryl Hall vocals which were removed due to a management brouhaha have been restored. In addition, 5 alternate takes of songs on the album have been appended to the second disc.

For Tony Levin fans, this release is an absolute gem. Several outstanding performances from the legendary bassman.

Highlights include the smoking (punk-rock?) "You Burn Me Up I'm A Cigarette", the Lark's Tongue styled "Breathless", "Exposure" (as heard on Peter Gabriel's second solo album), the beautiful "Water Music I", a completely rearranged version of Peter Gabriel's "Here Comes The Flood" and the lovely "North Star"...

Already essential, this re-issue makes it a "no-brainer" for Fripp fans (and anyone interested in brave, collaborative, late-70's art-rock...)
