THE ART OF NAVIGATING BY THE STARS

This is my introduction to Sieges Even and I could not be more impressed. Certainly not progressive metal anymore, but retaining those progressive metal rhythms. The guitar work is generally clean and the vocals generally restrained and melodic with some great harmonies. I can't really find fault with this release for what it is, a great prog album, perhaps there's a lot af Rush in the sound, but Sieges Even stand on their own merit. This would appeal to symphonic and neoprog fans more than a prog metaller, but if the metal fans feel like a rest once in a while, this is a good disc to chuck in and chill out to without losing the interest of a bit of prog metal influence.
