3 stars It becomes difficult to understand how it could be conceived of a compilation of these compositions with this title. "The Very Best Of Herbie Hancock" is not an exact title. "The Very Best Of Jazz Funk by Herbie Hancock" is a exact title. Having said that I can say that it is a good compilation, good for those who like Herbie Hancock and Jazz Funk. The songs, in their genre, are good and always current. The infiltrated "'round Midnight" does not sound like a foreign body in the end. Sure, some might say that this is a Herbie Hancock business. And without Jazz spirit. It might even be true. But the quality of music remains high.
