UNFOLD THE FUTURE

On this album TFK took some risk with an evolution towards a more jazz-rock/fusion sound. The problem for me is the lack of good songwriting. The jazz-rock jamming they develope sounds good but it's so aimless and extense that I get bored of it easily. I prefer more structured tracks. The first one, "The Set Will Set You Free" has some good moments but, sorry, I can't stand the 30 minutes overlong jamming.I won't comment every track because there are previous reviews that serve very well that purpose. Some of the tracks contain worthy melodies, some of them don't. But the predominant passages are simple improvisations. Indeed the musicians do it well, but that's not enough to keep my attention. This is definitely my least favorite album by TFK, but it may interest to jazz-rock improvisation lovers.
