5 stars My introduction to the Symphony X was "V" album... What can I say - it changed my view on music... "V" was also my very first progressive metal record... I listen that masterpiece for weeks non-stop... Then I buy "Twilight In Olympus"... Another masterpiece... Wow... So, it was time for next Symphony X release... I had very, VERY high expetations...

AND I WAS BLOWN AWAY! "THE ODYSSEY" IS ANOTHER SYMPHONY X MASTERPIECE (third in a line)!

At first I missed those epic, more atmospheric - keyboard oriented moments that I loved on "V" or "Twilight In Olympus", but with every next listen I slowly accepted this "new" and "fresh" approach in the Symphony X sound (little heavier and "right in your face"). Many people (fans) always compare Symphony X to the Dream Theater and I'm sick and tired of that. Both are great bands with very much different style wich is more than ever clear on "The Odyssey"! So, stop with those comparations and enjoy in awesome music!

Once again: SYMPHONY X - "The Odyssey" - M A S T E R P I E C E -
