5 stars AtomicCrismonRush has gone into all the details really but here is my take on it. Rush have produced the record they have been threatening to make for an age - and its a thundering triumph. We have been waiting for 5 years since Snakes & Arrows - worthy but slightly flawed effort. This time things are different this is the sound of a band cutting loose - all the members have the space to really play here - the guitars soar, bass pulses and rumbles and drums... well its Neil and he is laying it down like only HE can. Its far superior to Vapour Trails in sound and power. And best of all it all feels very natural and unforced like the songs came from a long series of jam sessions. The story is cool fleshed out with lyrics that are some of Neil's finest and Geddy is frankly fantastic on vocals. There are cool sonic references to classic Rush tunes and there is just no way these guys should sound this good. A lesson to some other acts whose powers have faded and a fabulous gift to the rest of us. A victory for integrity, intelligence and passion.
