3 stars The band were well into their comeback by the time of this album. As a successor to the excellent Perfect Strangers it disappointed. Still full of good songs, it seemed to lack the spark and quality that puts Purple's best albums aside from the rest. Strangeways is a great track boasting some of the best work by Blackmore on this album. Definitely not an essential buy but not a total dud either.
