3 stars the broadsword and the beast is a very irregular album, it got some extraordinary songs, and some disappointing tracks... generally i used to hear the A side, it got the bests songs of the album, like "the clasp", "fallen on hard times", the emotive "flying colours", and the nice and simple "slow marching band". the opening track (beastie), is the only disappointing song of the first side. the B side is just a waste of time, just some moments can be saved... but in general lines, except for pussy willow, the B side is really poor. anyway... the first side of the album is very enjoyable.
