SANTANA

This is where it all started and 40 years later it is still going strong. From 1969 this is the first release by Carlos Santana and his group. And a wonderful beginning it is. "Waiting", "Evil Ways", "Jingo", it's all good. Not a perfect album but darn close. Hard to believe it has been around for so long as much of it still sounds fresh as it did way back when I was a kid. Latin prog/funk rock with a wicked guitar player and quality backing band. Hard not to like this. No bad songs and a few classic ones. 4 stars
