3 stars Hexeractime by Senmuth is psychedelic and Eastern-infused metal throughout. The psychedelic element is superior to the metal aspect, with the former demonstrating a high degree of creativity with experimental sounds and the latter generally relying on chugging repetition.

"Awakening Magnetar" Spacey vastness accompanied by an extraterrestrial signal and light percussion is paired with a battery of metal leading up to a psychotic guitar solo. The insane drumming is a tad too much for my liking.

"Rotomahana [Quartzite Terraces]" Sitar and a glistening keyboard provide a lovely backdrop for a well-orchestrated lead guitar- think Jon Anderson meets Mastodon.

"Midan al-Tahrir" A more furious approach that heavily relies on drums and sound effects akin to a riot, this track indulges more consistently in thrash metal.

"Okteraktic Lake" As a brief contrast to the noisy chaos from before, this track offers light percussion before launching head first into more repetitive metal, and it alternates in this manner.

"Santalum Air" Fusing Indian music with metal, this succinct instrumental could have used more focus, especially with the guitars.

"Metagalaxy" One of the better heavy metal offerings, "Metagalaxy" makes good use of its main theme and experimental tones.

"Binary Opposition" Senmuth provides a typical heavy foundation for Eastern sounds, letting the atmosphere breathe from time to time.

"Historical Sand Stream" The final track has excellent lead guitar over a menacing synthetic backdrop.
