LIVE AT PLYMOUTH 1971

And this is marvellous concert. Recently I've been listening to all concerts from this line- up and I think they're really great. This incarnation of KC played was very jazzy on-stage (much more than on "Islands" album) and generally I start to think that it was more interesting version of Crimson than the 1969 line-up... Fripp as a guitarist is far better, and the whole band sound more powerfull. Live versions of "Schizoid man" played by this line -up, and sung by Bozz (his distorted voice sounds really demonic) seem to me to be the best live versions - best of all KC incarnatoins! What else? It surprises me that song like "Cirkus" (tremendous, really) is as good as on "Lizard". listening to studio version I could not imagine, that they would manage to re-create it on-stage, not loosing it's power, mystery and all the rest... Biggest surprise here is an early (pre-"Islands") 15-minutes long version of "Sailor's tale", very different from the later one. We also have "Lady of the dancing water" and "Get thy bearings" (which is in fact rather an improvisation, with a slight hint to "get thy bearings"). Later on they delated "get thy bearings" and played "groon" instead. But in fact both are very free- form improves. Sound quality is very good. Highly recommended.
