My '90 progressive favourite album, too. (count out King Crimosn as a Band from Different Planet). And the best by Anekdoten, i think. Still we will find here a lot of Crimson influences (less than on debut), but it can be forgiven, because influences here are used up in a very clever way. Anyway, it's better to be similar to King Crimson than to all the mediocre neo-prog bands from '80-and-'90 (which are usually very similar to each other). Generally this is a very big step foreward, compared with (very good) debut album, and "In freedom" is a good example that Anekdoten can go in very surprising directions. The band plays very hard, even agressive here, but - thank God - it doesn't go in prog- metal direction. Compositions are brilliant, solos short and inteligent, arrangements very inventive. Every single minute full of expression. Really good use of mellotron -it gives a "symphonic" touch, but doesn't make it mellow or over-arranged. Masterpiece, really.
