THE DEVIN TOWNSEND BAND: SYNCHESTRA

Everything works fine here (2 tiny little exceptions: first, the "Secret Track", which simply seems not to belong on this release. I'll consider it that way, and I won't take it into account; and second, "Vampolka" - which, I think, is only meant as an introduction to "Vampira", and which - in my opinion - does not really fit here, as well ).

The album has 2 strong sections:

- the first one starts with "Hypergeek", followed by "Triumph" (which is the first great, solid track of the album) and ends with the next track, "The Baby Song" (which is also good, but maybe not as solid as the previous). These 3 are followed by "Vampolka" and "Vampira" - which are part of a somehow weaker section of the album. "Mental Tan" is also here, but it's quite a nice soft instrumental track.

- the second section starts with "Gaia" and it goes till the end of the album, to "Notes From Africa" (excluding the "Secret Track"). It's a really solid, great 6 track section ("Gaia", "Pixillate", "Judgement", "A Simple Lullaby", "Sunset" and "Notes From Africa").
