2 stars The eye on the ground!

The eye in the sky is about the all seeing eye, which is the symbol of god in old Egypt. I used to like this record a lot when I was not so deep into the progressive rock yet. With the Alan Parsons Project I get more and more problems to accept the cheesy vocals and the clinical clean soundscapes since I got more into the eclectic and avant garde prog. Nowadays I don't understand anymore why I liked this record once.

The best part of the record is the orchestral part on side one `Silence and I`. Actually this is now the only song I should give four stars. This seems to be the most intellectual written song with nice symphonic progression. The other songs are to messed up by the vocals and clean sound and easy songwriting.

This record could be a nice adition for those who are just beginning to explore the progressive rock scene and/or those who don't have troubles with the strong pop influence in this music.
