5 stars Synchestra is the most intricate, so far, of the albums from the Devin Townsend Band. With production quality similar to that of Terria or Ocean Machine, yet with the song writing quirkiness of Infinity. There is a distinct flow to this album, remaniscent of some of the 19th and 20th century classical symphonies. There is no single track on this album that stands out as the "best" song, but something in listening to it keeps one glued until the very last note (including the hidden track "Sunshine and Happiness"). Similar to a long, epic film that you can't stop watching over and over, Synchestra will most certainly be on my regular playlist for a long time to come. For an extra added bonus, Steve Vai makes a guest appearance on the song "Triumph". -Rich F. York PA
