GHOST REVERIES

First off, I don't think this album is a masterpiece. It's certainly not a bad album but I don't think it matches the quality of Blackwater Park, Still Life or Deliverance. It does have its exciting moments such as the end of "The Baying of the Hounds" and the start of "The Grand Conjuration" but it also has many sections which I find a bit dull. I was hoping that the addition of keyboards to the band would give the band a fuller sound than it does.

The album is certainly progressive. You have death metal vocals side-by-side with soft ballad sections but sometimes I don't think it flows very well. The album is interesting and progressive but for me it lacks the consistency of the older albums.
