![]() "Phallus Dei" (1969) album is represented with "Kanaan", "Lucifer's Ghillom" and the title track; "Yeti" (1970) with "Soap Shock Rock", "She Came Through the Chimney", "Archangels Thunderbird" and "Cerberus"; "Carnival in Babylon" (1972) with "C.I.D. in Uruk", "All the Years 'round" and "Hawknose Harlequin"; "Wolf City" (1973) with "Surrounded by the Stars ", "Jail-house Frog ", title track and "Deutsch Nepal "; "Vive la Trance" (1974) is represented with "Fly United ", "Mozambique ", "Apocalyptic Bore ", "Dr. Jekyll" and "Pig Man". It is obvious that zero compositions are taken from "Tanz der Lemminge" (1971) and it is quite a disadvantage of this compilation. True, those songs are probably too long to fit onto a compilation, but instead of equally long "Phallus Dei" track, which is excellent but not in its entirety, "Restless Skylight..." for instance, would fit nicely. Nonetheless, the selection of other tracks is very much representative of some of the best moments in AMON DUUL II catalogue, so if you are not familiar with this unique Kraut-rock band but would not like to waste time investigating individual albums, this 2CD collection could be your preferred choice. I don't like the cover image and the track listing is not given in chronological order. ***
