5 stars In the liner notes, Klaus mentions that he wanted to create an "electronic winter landscape". Listening to this album in my car one winter afternoon, with dark clouds hanging low and a fierce wind blowing snow across the road and the empty fields around me, I had to admit he had succeeded totally. I couldn't have imagined a more perfect soundtrack to that scene. An album created entirely on analog keyboards, this to me is Klaus' masterpiece (along with X). As much as I like Tangerine Dream, they couldn't hold a candle to Klaus at this stage of both their careers. He is quite simply, the master of the ambient soundscape, with music that feels organic, like a living organism moving slowly through the stars and solar systems. This is not music to focus intently on, but music to explore your own mind with. I don't know if that makes any sense to people not familiar with this type of music, but if it appeals to you, this is a wonderful album to experience all that ambient music can be.
