DEEP PURPLE

a good good album, with very high moments, the best album of the mark I. it starts with chasing shadows (8/10), a really moved song with a great work of ian paice and nick simper. blind (9/10) is a nice song with emotive keyboards. lalena (5/10) is an uninspired song, the ballads are not too compatibles with deep purple. fault line is more a nexus between lalena and the painter than a real song. the painter (6/10) is another moved song like chasing shadows, but not is good as the opening track, it's a rock n' roll as each other, anyway it has a great moog solo and is very well played. why didn't rosemary (3/10) is a mediocre rock n' roll with uninspired guitar solos, just some lord arranges makes that this song doesn't be an absolute waste of time. bird has flown (10/10) brings back the good moments to this album. maybe it doesn't be a masterpiece of music, but i like very much this song and that is a good reason to give it perfect rate. april (20/20) is truely a masterpiece of music, an incredible jon lord's effort. he shows here that he probably can't make "hits", but he can make amazing songs like this.
