AQUALUNG

Just amazing. Surpassing even the brilliant 'Benefit' (which, nevertheless, still remains my favourite Jethro Tull album), 'Aqualung' is like a great book; it keeps you glued to your seat from start to finish, allowing you to catch your breath with some of its acoustic numbers, before bombarding with the heaviest sounds the band had produced to that point. Martin Barre shines here and the band is tighter than ever, with Ian Anderson's snarling 'angry young man' vocal performance, which I find very charming. The production suffers a little, but it's a negligible problem (which could be sorted out in the upcoming re-release).

This album leaves just an incredible impression, with both its music, lyrics and the overall sound of the Jethro Tull chamber ensemble. I recommend it to every music fan.
