4 stars Actually, 4 3/4 stars. WOW, this was the first album I ever heard from Mostly Autumn and I was just blown away. The CD didn't leave my player for 2 weeks, and since then I have picked up many of their other releases, but I believe this to be their best. There are no weak songs on the album. "The Dark Before the Dawn", "The Last Bright Light", and "Shrinking Violet" are particularly great, and "Mother Nature" is a masterpiece. The only reason I didn't give this album 5 stars, is that because its not a pure prog album, but a perfect mixture of prog and classic rock, with folk and Celtic influences. Heather Findlay has a beautiful voice, and while Bryan Josh's voice is not as strong, he conveys a lot of heartfelt emotion, plus he's an incredible guitarist.
