INSURGENTES - THE MOVIE

You might wonder how a documentary with two musicians as talented as Wilson and Akerfeldt could possibly go wrong. We'll, let me tell you. By making the viewer hate every second of the film. Endless "experimental" camera work and industrial sounds seem to be the focus in Insurgentes, not the story or information. Wilson seems like a genuine, intelligent musician, but this movie was a wrong choice. I didn't find any of the interviewing particularly engaging, and it was constantly being interrupted by "trippy" or "ambient" shots. Once again, Wilson and Akerfeldt have both proven repeatedly that they are among the most talented musicians active today, but Insurgentes is only for a die-hard fan. In fact, it might take a die-hard fan's patience to even make it through Insurgentes.
