DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT: DECONSTRUCTION

I must admit, I have been anticipating this album for months, and I may still be on my honeymoon phase as I hear it, although I am listening to it for the fourth time as I write this. Devin Townsend has managed to create a masterpiece that is as brutal as it is melodic, chaotic as it is focused, and serious as it is humorous. A brutally honest self-purging work that puts Devin's soul on display for the world to see, Deconstruction grabs me at every twist and turn, making me grin ear to ear with joy as the music moves like the most carefully designed roller coaster on the planet. Most likely album of the year for me.
