THE ULTIMATE CHICKEN MELTDOWN

This is a satisfactory compilation of Atomic Rooster's Eighties version. But Atomic Rooster, by this time, was far away from the glorious days of early Seventies. This makes this album a good buy for fans, but not a good start to the newcomer; this version of Atomic Rooster was dangerously closer to a hard-pop sound. Another major fault is the packaging, which lacks information about recording dates, original album/single releases for most of the songs. Highlights: "Devil's Answer" (live version), "Watch Out", "Throw Your Life Away". Prog-rockers will probably find this album uninteresting, hard-rockers interested in early Eighties hard rock maybe will find some gems at this 16 track compilation.
