3 stars Magentalane isn't really a masterppiece, that's right. But on the other hand it was a typical 80's pop album, and even that kinda album, most of the poppie Klaatu fans were waiting for. In my own opinion there are only a few good songs, I really like the title song, Rainbow & Mrs Todd . The other songs sometimes are boring (sorry to say this). On nearly all Klaatu albums I prefered the Dee Long tunes, so I expected to get another great song with Mars, but after listening to it a few times, I think, it is one of the worst songs he ever did. Very, very lightweighted, nothing to see like Neutrino, Universe and so on. So, Magentalane seemed to be the right album at the right time, the time to make it a day. If you are a fan of 80's pop music, this album might be okay, if you 're a Klaatu fan, it's also a must have, for all others ..., take look on "Hope", that's Klaatu's masterpiece!
