3 stars Not really among his his best but still a decent album, mostly thanks to the 16 minute opening 'Industrial Revolution' which go through some neat soundscapes on it's way. There's indeed an industrial and mechanical themes to this album in general, but there's still a sense of fun in tracks like 'Computer Weekend', with it's weird synths and painfully upbeat melody, and the mechanical dance mannerisms of the 5 minute title track. The rest is largely forgettable, the relatively boring 'London Kid' features guest appearance by Hank Marvin, and that's it. 'September' with it's 'nyah nyah' children vocal choir melody is downright horrible and probably the only Jarre track I never finished, while 'Tokyo' and 'Emigrant' are decent enough I guess. Uneven, good, but non-essential.
