5 stars a simply stunning debut from a band which has managed to release consistently amazing albums since their conception.

The album starts off with a bang in "! (foreword)", which perfectly sets the atmosphere for what is to come musically. Highlights of the album come in the form of the stunning "People Passing By", the explosive "To The End" and the beautiful "Plains of Dawn". That isn't to say that any of the other songs dissapoint, the album is remarkably consistent, without one weak track.

Entropia is incredibly unique and varied, it's like a roller-coaster ride of emotion as the music switches constantly between heavy riffs and soft, soothing guitar work. Gildenlow's vocals are simply stunning, but what is most impressive is the use of backing vocals to aid his efforts, particularly noticeable in "Plains of Dawn".

Entropia is an album which, simply, should be in every prog fan's collection. If you haven't had the fortune of listening to Pain of Salvation, this is a great place to start. If you have, but haven't heard this album yet, then what are you waiting for? You won't be dissapointed.
