Proto - Kaw headed by Kerry Livgren resurrects the sound with some innovations such as a more folk flutes and a voice that leaves furthest from the heritage of Kansas. With a large number of retro symphonic bands today as Anima Mundi, Moon Safary ... Proto - Kaw may be considered somewhat innovative. Jazzy elements, a setting on many occasions there, "Congo" and oriental elements as in "Leaven. " The hardrock riffs and solos of the inheritance of their previous band signals are more striking. "Before Became After " is one of those albums for true fans of symphonic prog and replacement of any Kansas bad album that you do not want to hear.
