ALPHA

ALPHA, which followed the debut album ASIA, in my opinion was very well done. It sounds very similar to the first album with strong sounding lyrics by John Wetton. Asia is bashed quite a bit on this site and I don't know why. I know their lyrics aren't the greatest but the general sound of the band is awesome. The first album had great success yet on this site didn't get a real high review. If you like the first Asia album, this is definitely one to pick up and you can get it pretty cheap. My one criticism of this album is that Steve Howe's guitar work wasn't very prounounced and I wish I would have heard more from him being that he is a guitar great as many know from YES. But nonetheless this album is just plain fun to listen to. It gives you the 80's Rocky IV feel, if you know what I mean. A solid 4 stars.
