3 stars Uriah Heep became 'ery good... 'ery fast. And though not really a progressive album, all features that warant their inclusion on progarchives are present. The great guitar licks from Mick Box, heavy organ/keyboard playing from Ken Hensley, and David Byron has one of the finest voices in Rock history (IMO). The classic line-up is not yet in place, but this rhythm section Paul Newton, bass and Ollie Olson on drums do a great job, keeping it tight and drive the music to great heights on occasion.

Uriah play mostly a heavy classic blues rock type of music, with some Deep Purple type heavy rock, with deep grooves, but also lots of melodic keyboard and guitar solo's, and vocal lines and harmonies that work out great. Highlights of the album are the hard rocking Gypsy, with great vocals and great very heavy guitar works, Dreammare, with the Heep choir providing very good lalala's and great singing, and the great Wake Up, actually there are no real weak songs on there.

Overall this album isn't really progressive, it's heavy rock with some symphonic tendensies in the guitar/keyboards and vocals overlapping each other, but if you like heavy rock in the style of Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and early Rush, this album will not disappoint you. Great classic rock.
