5 stars It is funny that when you select a rating you are asked to "carefully consider" the rating which you are selecting. This is one album which the term "a masterpiece of progressive music" should be applied. BSS is the pinnacle from one of the handful groups which created the Progressive genre and never again would ELP be as progressive as they are on this album. There really isn't a weak song on this album. Perhaps the lyric could have been better on "Still You Turn Me On", but the song itself is wonderful. "Benny the Bouncer" may have not been a 'prog' piece, but the song again shows the group's versatility. As for the rest of the album; "Toccata" is a great piece of music. (If you ever listen to the original piano piece, you will be surprise how close ELP's cover really is.) "Karn Evil 9, 1st Impression, Part 1" is hands down one the best pieces of music that I have ever heard and the boys really pull that stops out on this piece. I only wished that Eddie Offord had produced this album. 1973 was a great year for Progressive music and BSS was one of that year's gems.
